Proudly Serving the Hulet and Devils Tower Community
The American Legion Auxiliary is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 season of Wyoming Girls State, a premier leadership and civic engagement program for young women. This year’s program will be held from June 8 to 14 at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne.
Wyoming Girls State provides high school junior girls from across the state with a unique, hands-on opportunity to learn about the inner workings of state and local government. Over the course of the week, participants will create and run their own mock government, hold elections, debate bills and engage in a wide range of activities designed to develop their leadership and public speaking skills
Girls State participants will have the opportunity to:
• Participate in a simulated government, including elections, legislative sessions and court proceedings.
• Meet and interact with local government officials and community leaders.
• Gain valuable skills in public speaking teamwork and leadership
• Develop friendships with other motivated young women from across the state.
Wyoming Girls State is open to high school junior girls (rising seniors) from across Wyoming. Applications are available through local American Legion Auxiliary units and school guidance counselors.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early, as space is limited. The application deadline is Feb. 15.
