Proudly Serving the Hulet and Devils Tower Community
Edward William Gantz Jr., 84, of Alva, Wyoming, passed away peacefully with his family beside him on March 31, 2024.
Ed was born on October 22, 1939, to Edward Gantz Sr. and Margaret (Sipe) Gantz. He grew up on the family ranch where he lived until the time of his death.
He attended his primary school years at Belle Country School that was located on the family ranch. Later he attended school in Hulett, graduating in 1957.
In the summer of 1957, he married his high school sweetheart, Donna Stinson. Together they raised six children.
He spent his entire life ranching and working outside. Ed never met a horse, dog, or animal he didn't like or want to take care of. He enjoyed being outside doing chores, even up until his death.
He loved any reason to get together with family and have everyone around. He especially loved birthday parties, holidays or no reason at all to join for meals.
Though he could be ornery and loved to tease, family meant everything to him, especially his wife, six children and their spouses, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was always there with his "words of advice and support".
Ed "Eddie" is survived by his wife of 65 years, Donna of Alva; his children, Randy (Barb) Gantz of Hulett, Twila (Randy) Steben of Torrington, Joe (Paula) Gantz of Alva, Carla (Frank) Dorsett of Hulett, Willard (Annette) Gantz of Moorcroft and Richard (Lisa) Gantz of Alva. Along with his grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel of Sundance, WY.
