Hulett Town Council

The town council met on Dec. 6, 2023 at 7 p.m. Present were Council Backen, Bears, Kennah and Mayor Parsons. Absent was Councilwoman Terri Johnson.

Motion to approve the agenda with an addition under new business work session Backen/Kennah, mc.

Motion to approve the minutes, Backen/ Kennah, mc.

Financial – Bears discussed a program called WY Class (an investment program) Council felt this should be tabled. Motion to accept the report, Backen/Bears, mc.

Police – Chief Motely gave the police report. He will be in Sundance on Dec. 18 for a trial.

Public works – Working on filling hole at airport, its 70% filled. Airport lights have been fixed. Ben presented information on a broom and a harness.

Bills: Motion to approve general bills, Bears/Backen, mc. Motion to approve airport bills, Backen/Bears, mc. Motion to approve GHCC bills, Backen/Kennah, mc.

Mayor report: Received information from Range on Red Devil Drive installation, around $80,000. Mayor Parsons also stated that there was an informational sheet on the joint landfill project issue. Hulett may need a representative if this is brought up again.

Tire removal: PWD has gotten Wade Wood to haul out the tires and take to Belle Fourche landfill. Dumping is $3750 plus additional dumps plus the hauling cost. Mayor stated that this will come out of rec board budget.

A public hearing for the land swap with the school will be held January 3, 2024 at 7:30 p.m.

The Christmas party will be postponed until January.

Motion was made to have the Mayor sign the Task Order form for the airport, Kennah/Backen, mc.

Kenny Rathbun email about a meeting concerning the proposed water project at the golf course. Bears will email him

There will be a work session on January 10th at 6 p.m. with the planning board to discuss Red Devils Drive Phase 3.

Motion was made to purchase the broom for the skid steer, Kennah/Bears, mc.
