Hulett Town Council

The Hulett Town Council met on Sept. 6, 2023 at 7 p.m. Present were Council Backen, Bears, Johnson, Kennah and Mayor Parsons. Motion to accept the agenda, Backen/Kennah, mc. Motion to approve the Aug. minutes, Kennah/Backen, mc.

Jim Geis asked about dumping his septic into the town’s sewer lagoon. Motion was made not to allow Jim Geis or any other septic tank pumpers to discharge into our sewer system, Bears/Johnson, mc.

Connie and Tom Lindmier presented a letter to council concerning the water in their meter pit. They are concerned that if it is not fixed before freezing it could cause a big issue. The Mayor stated that they were on the list of repairs and that Gantz would be there tomorrow.

Financial – Motion to approve Backen/Kennah, mc.

Police – Chief Motley stated he has a meeting he will be attending tomorrow and is working on enforcing the house addressing.

PWD – There are several water leaks and the Jays would like to hook up water at their grainery. Fire suppression test was held at the golf course and there was good pressure. Pravecek also said there is junk that needs to be removed at the recreation grounds and he would like to get a dumpster. Council said that would be ok.

Motion to pay general bills, Backen/Bears, mc.

Motion to pay airport bills, Bears/Backen, mc.

Motion to pay rally bills, Johnson/Bears, mc.

Motion to pay landfill bills, Backen/Kennah, mc.

Motion to pay capital facility bills, Kennah/Backen, mc.

Tire removal update – Motley said he was waiting on Lee Jay to get back with him.

Purple Heart trail – Motion to approve the proclamation, Kennah/Backen, mc.

Land swap with school – Motion was made to proceed with the land swap with the school, Bears/Kennah, mc.

Motion to have the Mayor sign the airport storm drain renewal, Bears/Backen mc.

Rally meeting – The Mayor state that if people want a rally meeting they are encouraged to set one up.

Fall clean up will be Sept. 22-Oct. 2.

The family of Ronnie Johnson asked if they could place a granite memorial bench in the park. Council thought that would be a great idea.

Motion to have the Mayor sign the agreement with Armstrong Consultants as airport engineers, Backen/Johnson, mc.

The donors for the water park have withdrawn their donation for now.
