Proudly Serving the Hulet and Devils Tower Community
Is anyone else feeling those fall vibes? To help us all get into the fall spirit the Alzada Community Club is putting on the Harvest Jubilee again this year. Sat., Oct. 7 please come out to help support the community club and have a good time.
We will have an hour of live cowboy music starting at 4 p.m., followed by supper at 5:30 p.m. and a dance at 7 p.m. We hope to have nice weather that will allow us to have a cornhole tournament outside.
At the door we will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a number of gift baskets. This is something new but we heard the extension ladies had success with this during their spring council. A free will donation to the Alzada Community Club is appreciated for the meal and the entertainment.
This year we will be serving grilled hot dogs and hamburgers with the grilling being done by Jim Pannell. He is a loan officer with Pinnacle Bank Wyoming.
He has graciously agreed to not only donate his time but also 100 burgers and buns to the event. Thank you, Jim!
The community club will be handling the hot dogs and buns, condiments, chips and drinks. While the members of the community club will be bringing side dishes and desserts, there are not very many of us so we would greatly appreciate any and all potluck dishes brought to the event.
Jack Owen has arranged for the entertainment portion of our evening by bringing back Brent Voigt from North Dakota. Mr. Voigt was one of three artists who performed for us at last year’s Harvest Jubilee.
He has been playing professionally for 50 years performing everything from classic country to top 40s and disco. He now concentrates his tales to classic country and cowboy music.
He has performed several times at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, NV. Each year he performs in Medora, ND at the North Dakota Cowboy Poetry Gathering and co-hosts the Poetry Gathering in Marmarth. This year he is playing with two other talented artists that will be joining him in Alzada on Oct. 7.
John Lardinois plays lead guitar and steel guitar. Vickie Hill plays the piano, guitar and bass. They both sing lead and harmony vocals. The trio will be performing for one hour from 4 to 5 p.m. and will be staying to play the dance at 7 p.m. following supper.
Help us celebrate this fall season and our community by coming to the Alzada Community Hall on Sat., Oct. 7. Please like and follow our Facebook page “Alzada Community Hall” for updates on events.
If you would like to donate time, food, money, or items please message us or talk to one of the following community club officers; Chuck Waterland, Terri Raye McInerney or Miranda Hendrickson. Hope to see you the first Saturday in October!
