Competitors were in Cheyenne last weekend for the 2023 State Horseshoe Tournament. Sanctioned Wyoming Horseshoe Pitching Association members came from all over the state for the competition.
Three participants from Moorcroft did very well at the state tournament. Kolter Huven placed first in the Junior division and Kris Huven placed third in the Men's C Division. John Paul Wonderchek placed fifth in the Men's D Division.
There were classes for women, men, elders and juniors. Classes are based on each person's ringer percentage, with the highest-percentage players competing for the state championship, and each class crowning a class champion and top three finishers.
The tournament was a double round-robin format across two days.
