Proudly Serving the Hulet and Devils Tower Community
Congratulations to the Hulett High School Clay Target League trap team for a season well done. The boys got off to a rough start with the minimum of five registering for the season and then losing one of their shooters before competition began.
The remaining four stuck to their guns and finished out the season competing against Burns, Upton, Niobrara and Sundance in their conference. Season averages for the Hulett shooters were as follows: Cameron Dirks - 7.7/25, Logan Dirks - 9.75/25, Grant Busenitz - 16.5/25 and Zac Palus - 20.5/25 (tied for 5th in conference).
Grant and Zac were able to compete at the Wyoming state tournament in Torrington on June 24 where Zac shot a 78/100 in the varsity competition (tied for 41st place) and Grant shot 82/100 in the junior varsity competition (tied for 10th place).
The High School Clay Target League is open to all middle and high school students and will be looking for more shooters for the Hulett team next spring. Contact coach Palus at 467-5779 if you have any questions.
