The annual Old West Invitational Turkey shoot sponsored by the Greater Hulett Community Center was held May 4-6. This year, 80 hunters participated in the one-shot turkey shoot.
Special guests this year were Wayne Hubbard, who is the host and producer of Urban American Outdoors; Candice Price, CEO and owner of Urban American Productions; and veterans Joe Bogart Veteran, Dwight Null, Burt Corley, Shawn Moore, Mike Woodcock and Bill Motely.
Other special guests were Brian Nesvik, Governor Mark Gordon and former Governor Dave Freudenthal. MC for the event was supposed to be Jim Thompson, but because of a health issue Jim Pannell stepped in and did a great job.
The two-day event was kicked off on Wednesday with a concert of at the 77 Steakhouse. Dexter Roberts, Trey Teem and local artist Alvin McAmis entertained a full house.
The event then included hunting, a banquet with a live and silent auctions, Annie Oakley competition at the recreation grounds and golfing. Proceeds from this event help with operations, projects and upkeep of the GHCC.
Winner of the youth contest sponsored by the GHCC was Jolee Jay.
