Proudly Serving the Hulet and Devils Tower Community
Garage filled with items you no longer need? Can’t bring yourself to throw out those gently used tools?
Applications are now open to vendors for this year’s Country Junkin’ event.
Find a new home for your well-loved belongings as, for three days this summer, bargain hunters travel the length and breadth of the county on the hunt for treasures from second hand goods to vintage items and food.
Country Junkin’ is scheduled this year for June 2 to 4, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the first two days and from 8 a.m. until noon on the Sunday. Vendors can choose to be available throughout the event or advertise custom times during the opening hours.
Applications can be downloaded on the Sundance Chamber of Commerce website’s calendar page. Starting from April 24, you can also pick one up from Sundance State Bank in Sundance, Gifts, Thrifts & Ifts in Moorcroft or Mercantile 307 in Hulett.
The Country Junkin’ event was conceived in 2019 as a way to attract visitors to the area while combining the yard and garage sales that tend to punctuate the summer.
The weekend, as always, will include vendors all across the county. Vendors can either set up tables at their own homes or work together to create a communal site at, for example, a participating local business or on a single vendor’s property.
Several community sale sites have already been announced. Sundance Square will be the destination for Sundance vendors on a first-come-first-serve basis, while the parking lot of 307 Mercantile will be available in Hulett and a site has been set aside in Moorcroft on North Big Horn between the museum and Gifts, Thrifts & Ifts.
Vendors are asked to pay a small fee to participate to help cover the cost of yard signs and a listing in the paper and online vendor directories, as well as advertising of the event.
Applications and payments must be received by May 22.
