15 February 2023 Recreational Board Meeting Minutes
The Hulett Recreation Board meet at 6:30pm on Wednesday February 15, 2023 at the GHCC. Members that were present were Bill Motley, Karen Dirks, Heather Shoun, LouAnn Cornett, Stephanie Badia, and Jace Badia. The meeting was called to order by President Bill Motley and asked if the agenda was accepted, Heather made a motion to accept the agenda, LouAnn 2nd the motion and then it was passed unanimously. The agenda was 1. Election, 2. Motley Halloween Reimbursement, 3. Donation Letter, 4. Fundraiser, and 5. Street Dance.
The Election was started by President Bill Motley. The first position put up for election was Vice President, LouAnn nominated Karen Dirks, Jace nominated Heather, Karen put forth the motion to cease nominations and put to a vote, Stephanie 2nd the motion. Heather won the vote 4 to 2 and Heather Shoun was named new Vice President of the Hulett Recreation Board. The second position up for election was Treasurer, Melissa nominated Lee, Jace 2nd the nomination. Lee Jay was elected for the position of treasurer unanimously.
Donation Letter - Karen gave everyone an example of the donation letter that will be distributed to raise funds for the Hulett Rec Board. Small adjustments were made to the wording of the letter and it was accepted by the board.
Fundraiser - Bill brought up the idea of doing a fundraiser to raise money for the rec boards activities by holding a raffle. A hand gun will be purchased for no more than $500 for the purpose of a raffle which will be drawn on June 10th 2023 at the street dance. There will be 200 raffle tickets made up for $20 apiece.
Bill then asked for the Secretary’s report to which there was none. There was a motion to table the Secretary’s report by Karen, LouAnn 2nd the motion and it passed unanimously.
Bill then asked for the treasurers report and Melissa presented it but did not have the breakdown. There was a motion put forth by Karen to accept the treasurers report, Heather 2nd the motion and it was carried.
Street Dance – the contract was signed for Tris Munsik to be the main act for $4,500, a couple of motel rooms at the golf course, a flat bed trailer, Banditti for the opening act for $1,000. The Donation amount needed for the street dance is $5,500. TVAS and All Around Drilling have already stated they would like to donate for the street dance. The request to the promotion board for an advertising grant for $2,500 will be done again this year, Heather made the motion, Jace 2nd, motion carried. Further details about the street dance will be done during future meetings.
Motley’s Halloween Reimbursement – Bill was unable to use the card with the donated $640 to purchase items for the Halloween activity and had to use his own money at $607. There was a motion by Stephanie to reimburse Bill, Karen 2nd, passed unanimously.
Next Meeting will be March 15th 2023 at 6:30pm. Ending the session was motioned by Melissa, LouAnn 2nd, motion carried.
