Playing in the dirt

The Devils Tower FFA is making plans to get elementary students involved in the chapter by growing herbs. Each class Kindergarten through fifth grade, has been assigned a herb to grow in their classroom.

Herbs are easily grown, low maintenance plants that are perfect for growing in classrooms year-round. The FFA has drastically reduced in active participant numbers the last few years.

The idea for this plan is to get kids interested in the FFA so our program doesn't dwindle and die out.

Chapter Treasurer Ellie Jay said, "Our goal is to educate the younger students about the opportunities FFA has to offer."

These opportunities include attending FIRE and Delegate Meetings in Casper in the fall, Livestock and CDE practice and competitions, attending State Convention in the spring, showing livestock and exhibiting at county and state fair.
