Larry Heiser

Larry Heiser passed away peacefully February 24, 2022, in Kenesaw, Nebraska. A memorial service to remember his life will be held at First Baptist Church in Hulett, Wyoming, May 21, at 2 p.m.

Larry William Heiser was born August 12, 1949, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, to Otto and Emma (Nuckolls) Heiser.

During the early elementary school years, he sometimes rode a horse to Pleasant Hill Country School. Starting with seventh grade, he went to Oelrichs Schools and graduated in 1967.

Larry was his dad’s right-hand man, working hard on the home ranch east of Oelrichs. He spent many hours raking, stacking and pitching hay, milking cows, doing chores, digging post holes, fixing fence and riding to check cows.

He would also help his mother in the garden and with the chickens. He was a hard worker and enjoyed working outside on the ranch in the summer and winter.

Larry had a kind and generous heart. He enjoyed giving gifts to family members.

He enjoyed singing the old hymns with his deep bass voice.

Larry followed his mother’s move to Nebraska, closer to where his sister lived, after his father’s passing.

Larry was a beloved son, brother and uncle and will be dearly missed by his three sisters, Jeanne (Roger) DeVries of Hastings, Nebraska, Betty (Tim) Maseberg of Thedford, Nebraska and Carol (Lee) Deatherage of Hot Springs. He is survived by his Aunt Thea, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
