Hulett hosted the regional tournament lady Friday and Saturday. Hulett took on Guernsey but fell short, 23-25,25-12,20-25, 23-25. Their next matchup was Kaycee and the lady Devils redeemed themselves, 25-12, 25/18, 25-12. Competitors were in Cheyenne last weekend for the 2023 State Horseshoe Tournament. Sanctioned Wyoming Horseshoe Pitching Association members came from all over the state for the competition. Three participants from Moorcroft did very well at the state tournament. Kolter Huven placed first in the Junior division and Kris Huven placed third in the Men's C Division. Hulett sophomore Kyle Smith wanted to give back to his community so he hosted the Little Rascals Skill Development camp on Aug. 5 at the Greater Hulett Community Center. Twenty-four elementary and junior high athletes showed up to develop their dribbling, shooting and defensive skills....
Hulett hosted a horseshoe tournament last weekend at the recreation grounds. Eleven competitors in two different groups competed. Class A: Lorado Reetz first, Jack Mings second and Thebea Thomas third. Class B was a three-way tie between Dan Cahill, Kris Huven and John Paul Wondercheck but Dan forfeited his tie breaker and John Paul won his and Kris' tie breaker game. The Hulett swim program had 34 participants for swimming lessons at the Belle Fourche Rec Center this year. We endured the ride from Hulett each day with our wonderful bus driver Amber Kaplan, and a couple parent volunteers who joined each day to keep kids safe as they traveled. Congratulations to the Hulett High School Clay Target League trap team for a season well done. The boys got off to a rough start with the minimum of five registering for the season and then losing one of their shooters before competition began.
