The Hulett Cross Country team recently took part in the Brittany Rentas Memorial in Wright. The Lady Red Devils earned first place as a team with Abby Palus placing first individually. Hulett area youth just wrapped up their 2022 summer swimming lessons session. This year, a record number of 42 children participated. For the last 20+ years, the Belle Fourche Rec Center has graciously set aside a two-week session for the Hulett youth every summer. As you can imagine having no swimming pool in Hulett, this opportunity is a huge benefit to our little town and the families that live here. The Hulett track team has been busy winding down their season. The Best of the Best track meet which was held in Douglas had several of the Hulett athletes placing. Sixteen teams enjoyed the beautiful day to play in the third playing of Urban Golf Hulett held on March 19, golfing on the streets of Hulett using tennis balls and hitting to targets such as five-gallon buckets, light poles, fire hydrants and dumpsters. The team called the Wizards of Colorado came in first place with a score of 24 on the nine-hole course. This year's 1A State Basketball Championships proved tough for the Hulett squads. The Lady Red Devils faced a tough Cokeville team who were the number one seed from the west.
