    The Hulett Roping Club is holding their annual free BBQ on Sun., Sept. 29 at the Hulett Recreation Grounds. They will serve from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please bring your own table service. The annual meeting and election of officers will be held at 1:30 p.m. The queen contest will be held for ages 12-21 following the meeting. After the queen contest, the playday will be held. This event is the roping club’s way of saying thank you for all the support and help during the Hulett Rodeo....

  • Climber falls from Devils Tower

    A rock climber is reported to have died after falling from Devils Tower on Sunday. According to Devils Tower National Monument, 21-year-old Stewart Phillip Porter of Eau Claire, WI, sustained major injuries after falling from the second pitch of El Cracko Diablo. Devils Tower Law Enforcement was informed of the accident around 8 p.m. and found Porter approximately 40 minutes later. A Hulett EMS paramedic pronounced him dead at the scene.     Crook County now hosts two new improvement districts, one for the Beulah area and one for a subdivision located north of Hulett. Votes for both districts during the recent primary election were the final steps in forming the districts. Yellowstone I&S Late last year, developer Yellowstone L&R Ranch, a South Carolina limited liability company, filed a petition to form a district for the 46 parcels that make up one of the county’s newer large-acre subdivisions.     Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has officially withdrawn from the ballot in Wyoming. Kennedy will no longer appear as an independent candidate for President of the United States at the general election in November.
