    The Hulett eighth grade volleyball team ended their spectacular season by taking the district championship after defeating Bighorn 25-12 and 25-20. The district tournament was held in Kaycee on Saturday. Hulett defeated Upton 25-10, 25-14 and Tongue River 25-13, 25-20 to make it to the championship round.     The Crook County Extension Office last week welcomed its newest team member: Erica Reasoner, who will be taking over as the 4-H youth development educator for this area. The position came open earlier this year when Sara Fleenor, who served as 4-H educator for 12 years, stepped up to become the Ag and Natural Resources Extension Educator.     Carolyn Jean Hook, age 80, of Alva, Wyoming, passed away peacefully, to be with our Lord and surrounded by her family at the Crook County Nursing Home on October 15, 2024. Carolyn was born on July 23, 1944, in Spearfish, South Dakota to Hulett (Bill) and Evelyn (Emmy) (Howard) Wood. She was an only child, but considered her first cousins, Sharon and Charlotte her sisters, as they fought, like all siblings do with each other.     The winners of the Hulett historians contest have been announced. Elementary students were invited to participate in the historians' contest. There were a lot of entries submitted. First place winner of the poster contest for second and third graders was Hadlee Apland ($50).     The Hulett public library held annual baking contest and this year the category was bars. 14 yummy recipes were submitted with the public doing the judging.     Juvenile shot on Hamilton Way; Police located suspect CASPER (WNE) — A minor was shot in the early hours of Saturday morning on the 3200 block of Hamilton Way, just north of its intersection with Sun Drive, in Casper.
