The 2024 Hulett Homecoming coronation kicked off the weeklong events. The event was held outside on the football field, and the weather did not disappoint. Lella Lee Smith, 94, of Rapid City, South Dakota, and formerly of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, died October 7, 2024 at the Good Samaritan St. Martin Village in Rapid City. Lella was born September 29, 1930 in Belle Fourche to Louis and Etta (Richardson) Shelden. She spent her entire childhood growing up on a ranch near Hulett, Wyoming, with her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Hulett School library will host a Scholastic Book Fair on Oct. 21-Oct. 24. The Book Fair will be open daily from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
