Prevention activities through the Be Well Coalition here in Crook County just got a boost to the tune of $125,000 a year for the next five to ten years. Earlier this year, the county commissioners supported the Be Well Coalition in applying for one of the 100 Drug Free Communities grants to be awarded in 2023 throughout the entire country. The Crook County Natural Resource District along with the support of the Town of Hulett held another successful electronic recycling event on Saturday. Crook County towns participated this year by sponsoring the event, which allows residents to bring their electronics to be recycled. Jeanette Rae Smith, daughter of George and Adelaide Keener, was born on January 20, 1938, in Newcastle, Wyoming. Nels Jensen Smith, son of Peter and Helen Smith, was born just over a year later on January 29, 1939, in Newcastle, Wyoming. The Carlile Fire Zone 16 is celebrating their annual open house Saturday, September 16, starting at 6 p.m. at the Carlile Fire Hall and everyone is invited to dinner. Baby stroller allegedly used to steal drone CODY (WNE) — The Cody man charged in July with endangering his daughter by allowing her to be in the presence of meth was recently charged with burglary, theft and conspiracy to commit burglary after he and another Cody man allegedly used a baby stroller to steal a drone from Walmart on Aug. 2. The Hulett volunteer fire department held their annual fundraiser last Saturday at the fire hall. A BBQ and silent auction were held followed by the announcement of raffle winners. Even though the event seemed to be cut short due to a storm, it was a really good turnout....
Last Monday, a storm came through Hulett that dropped several inches of rain and some wicked lightning. The Town of Hulett was rattled when lightning struck this tree in the Hulett town park. People who witnessed it stated that it was a pink neon color when it hit the tree. Bark was blown, several feet away from the tree, plus it even blew off a sprinkler system control panel off of the nearby outside wall....
