    Sarah Pridgeon|Sep 5, 2024

"I want to take this opportunity to say this was a great election and I want to thank the county clerks, election judges, poll watchers and other volunteers that made the 2024 primary election a success," Gray said as the board convened on Wednesday to c...

He faces a felony count of property destruction/defacement and a felony count of conspiracy to commit property des...

  • USDA offers assistance for producers impacted by wildfire

    Sarah Pridgeon|Sep 5, 2024

Crook County has been lucky so far this summer in avoiding the large wildfires that have devastated much of the northeast of Wyoming. That’s not to say, however, that the county has been free from flames. After a season of constant smaller fires, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now offering assistance to farmers and livestock producers who have been impacted by wildfire. Programs aim to assist in recovery from losses and damages to crops, land, infrastructure and livestock. “Based on your reported losses or damages, our local Far...

  • Combating elder abuse

Josh Weller, Social Security Public Affairs Specialist in Denver, Colorado|Sep 5, 2024

Elder abuse is the intentional mistreatment or harming of an adult over age 60. This abuse can take many forms – physical, emotional, sexual and financial exploitation, as well as neglect. In the United States, an estimated one in ten adults over the age of 60 experience some form of abuse each year. That number is likely much higher because elder abuse is often underreported – especially in underserved communities. • The reality of rabies

Sara Fleenor, University of Wyoming Extension Educator|Sep 5, 2024

Many of us grew up with the stories of Old Yeller or Cujo (don’t tell my mother I read Steven King) and know all about rabies and the dogs foaming at the mouth trying desperately to bite the people they used to love. So, this summer when I had raccoons and skunks enjoying the cat food by the patio door at my house, I knew I needed to take action. None of these creatures were displaying aggressive or abnormal behavior, but having outdoor cats and kids made me leery of having wild animals comfortable being up close to my house, especially ones th...
