    It used to be that you heard the rumble of motorcycles a few days before the actual Sturgis Rally, but it seems that every year bikers are coming earlier. This year Hulett saw a noticeable increase about ten days prior to the actual rally. Streets were lined up with bikes and the streets were bustling with people headed into local shops and restaurants.     It’s been many years since even a mile of extra road was added to the county’s maintenance list – and that’s not about to change any time soon. Unable to fund any road work above what the Road & Bridge Department currently performs, the county commissioners intend to stay the course when it comes to requests from the public for additional maintenance.     Driver kills mountain lion on Moose-Wilson Road JACKSON (WNE) — A vehicle hit and killed a mountain lion Thursday evening on the Moose-Wilson Road, a fatal strike that follows a series of other deadly encounters between cars and animals in Jackson Hole.     The Hulett Public Library has welcomed a new children's librarian, Jenni Palm. Palm started the first part of July after Shanna Kallhoff decided to quit to pursue her clothing business. Palm and her husband and kids moved to Hulett in the summer of 2021. Prior to moving to Hulett, Palm was a school librarian and last year was the preschool teacher in Hulett.     The commissioners last week decided to compensate a couple for the loss of their calf after it was spooked by a county vehicle and died of its injuries from running into the side of the truck. Laramie and Cheyenne Seymour approached the commission to request advice on dealing with the county’s insurers, the Local Government Liability Pool (LGLP).     A black bear sits in a tree in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo on July 26. The bear was first spotted near Meadowlark Elementary School before crossing Cemetery Road. Police and Game and Fish wardens followed it and attempted to corner it so they could tranquilize it. Unfortunately, the bear climbed about 50 feet up the tree and couldn't be safely tranquilized, so wardens closed the cemetery and waited for the bear to come down.
