The Town of Hulett was busy with bikes beginning on Monday prior to the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Main street was lined with bikes and the town bustled with bikers visiting local shops and vendors. Lavern Sell passed away August 3, 2024, at the age of 92. Lavern was born November 25, 1931, in Wagner, South Dakota to Clarence and Katherine Sell. He grew up on a ranch near Keya Paha, South Dakota. He was the third of nine brothers and sisters. Lavern married Wanda Crawford on June 8, 1955, near Clearfield, South Dakota. They had four children, Waneta Sell, Linda (Todd) Spath, Lamoine (Mary) Sell and Lonnie Sell. Lavern owned the Standard Station in Sundance, Wyoming, in the late ’50s.
