Charles "Booie" Dirks Jr., 84, of Aladdin, Wyoming, passed away on July 17, 2023 in Sundance, Wyoming. He was born October 20, 1938 to Gilda and Charles Dirks Sr on his grandfather's ranch near Hulett, Wyoming. He joined a brother, Barney, and a sister, Doris. Later he became a big brother when sister, Dolly, was born. He spent his childhood years at the Dirks Ranch in Alva, WY, graduating from Hulett High School in 1956. Thanks to generous funding from the Wyoming Arts Council and the Wyoming Humanities Council, the Hulett Museum was able to re-design the existing Ranching Exhibit. Grant money allowed the museum to have Lyle Ike build eleven saddle stands. The museum is continuing to expand the exhibit. One of the projects related to the exhibit is gathering a list of words or phrases that describe ranching in our community. Dorothy Ray (Michel) Baron, a loving wife, mother, grandma, friend, died on a warm Friday afternoon, July 21, 2023, after a short stay at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by her family when she was greeted by Jesus and reunited with her husband Julian, other family members and friends. She was born on October 22, 1937, in Rhame, North Dakota. Hulett hosted a horseshoe tournament last weekend at the recreation grounds. Eleven competitors in two different groups competed. Class A: Lorado Reetz first, Jack Mings second and Thebea Thomas third.
