    Mother Nature didn't disappoint with the spring storm last weekend. Heavy wet snow was dumped across the area, providing much-needed moisture. Amounts ranged from 15 inches to nearly 20 inches with snowdrifts being measured in feet.   • Election filing opens soon

    For those interested in standing for election this year, whether for local, county or state positions, the filing window is about to open. For a two-week period, citizens will be invited to put forth their names for seats ranging from U.S. Congress to city council. Filing opens on May 12 and will close on May 27 for most county, state and federal seats.     The winners of the Old West invitational Turkey Shoot youth contest have been chosen for this year's event. Aiden Williams and Elizabeth Jordan are the winners of this year's creative contest. Aiden's work was turkey feathers placed on a weathered piece of wood and Elizabeth made jewelry out of turkey feathers.     The Crook County Clerk’s Office, in conjunction with the Midwest Assistance Program, will be holding a board member and special district director training on Friday, April 29.     CODY — After years of decline, the regional moose population is starting to show a small comeback in numbers, Game and Fish officials reported recently.     The Hulett airport met on April 4th at the DTFP. All members were present. The board had a conference call with Carson with T-O Engineering. The board did regular business first. The kindergarten class will get a tour of the hangar and Neiman plane on Tuesday at 10:30. They will follow up the tour with lunch. On May 17th the Wyoming Aeronautics Commission will be in Hulett.
