The Hulett town election will be held May 10 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the GHCC. Residents will be voting for Mayor and two council positions. If you’re interested in running for one of the positions you must live in the town limits and be a registered voter. Come to town hall and get a certificate of nomination. County Clerk Linda Fritz has handed in her resignation, citing plans to move out of the area to be closer to family. Crook County's latest five-ton fire truck was rolled out last week as final preparations were made before heading to Hulett where it will be ready for use as fire season gets into full swing. County level elected officials have requested that the Crook County Commissioners consider granting them a pay increase for the next four-year period. County Attorney Joe Baron spoke to the issue, citing issues including competition with private industry, retention and cost of living as arguments for making the increase. “Every four years, the board of commissioners has to set salaries for elected officials,” he said. The Wyoming State Museum’s traveling exhibit, Barn Here, will be on a mini-tour of northeast Wyoming with the Crook County Library, beginning in April. Wyoming barns differ greatly in style and function from barns in many other parts of the United States.
